This past week marked the first school visits for Truck Farm Omaha. We spoke with almost 100 students between 5th and 8th grade in Omaha and western Iowa.
Students took on different roles and key components in the compost pile and slowly breaking down, so we could put more nutrients in the garden
During the visits, students tasted beet greens, arugula, a variety of lettuces, garlic chives, radish tops and mint
We looked closely at a bucket of red wigglers and learned more about worms and their castings! Mmm
All of our students received seed pouches with delicious heirloom seeds to take home and grow in their own gardens or trucks… We call these “Growing Seedies”
Let us bring Truck Farm to you this summer! Please contact Chelsea, truckfarmomaha(at)gmail.com and we’ll set up a visit.
